Our client set us a brief of finding a student housing opportunity in a major student City in the United Kingdom. Ethos identified, and subsequently acquired an uninspiring 1960’s eleven storey concrete tower, which was formerly a 6th form college, situated in a prime central location in Cardiff City Centre.

Ethos acted in a Development Management role. We took on the project from acquisition stage right through to the creation of a building ready to be used as an operating entity by our client. This included securing planning consent for use as student accommodation, ensuring the appointed building contractor met time critical deadlines and quality benchmarks. We assisted our client to ensure we met the criteria, set out by their lenders for this complex project.

Redefining student living.

This uninspiring 1960’s eleven storey concrete tower has undergone complete redevelopment and refurbishment and now provides 123 luxury student rooms. The development facilitates a lifestyle that comes with a host of prestigious 24/7 services including concierge, cinema & gym – to name just a few. Despite a very densely populated student accommodation market, we are proud to have assisted our client in delivering an exciting, bespoke experiential, high-end, high-spec, service-driven, luxury urban living experience for students.

Delivering Excellence.

Following the success of this project, Ethos negotiated the purchase of an adjoining former pub on behalf of our client. Planning consent has been secured for the demolition of the pub and for a 10 storey student housing scheme to be constructed creating a further 117 high quality student rooms which will be delivered for the 2018/19 academic year.



Enabling Growth.

Ethos is currently acting in a Development Management role for similar student housing schemes in Exeter and Southampton, with a number of other sites also in the pipeline.

The ability to take a project from the site identification and acquisition phase right through to completion and handover to our client is what we believe sets us apart from our competition.
